Letters from the Accuser: How to Resist the Enemy Above

Letters from Malphas: How to Resist the Enemy Above

A Diabolical Correspondence on How to Thwart the Kingdom of Christ (And Why We Are Failing)

Letter 3: The Chain of the Family Must Be Broken

In which Malphas instructs Grelmoth on the necessity of severing generational faith, the danger of covenantal households, and the art of turning fathers into spiritual cowards.

To My Loyal Servant, Grelmoth,

You have taken your first steps, but do not mistake movement for progress. Cultural Christianity alone will not win us the war. It is a delaying tactic, nothing more. A rotting tree may stand for a while, but unless you strike at the root, it will eventually bear fruit again.

The root of their strength is the family.

If you wish to cripple the Enemy Above’s kingdom, you must break the chain of generational faith. The vermin have an irritating habit of passing down their beliefs to their offspring, raising them within the Enemy’s fortress from the moment they are born. This must be stopped.

Destroy the household, and you starve the Church of its future.

The Strategy of the Enemy Above

It is detestable, Grelmoth, how their King designed the family to be a weapon against us. He established fathers to lead, mothers to nurture, and children to inherit. He bound them together with covenants, promising that if they walked in His ways, their children would rise to do the same.¹

This, my foolish apprentice, is why their faith refuses to die.

When a single man is converted, he may falter. He may fall away. But when faith is embedded into a household, it lingers for generations. The Enemy delights in using weak, ordinary families to build His kingdom, and He mocks us every time a child sings His praises before he can even read.

Do you understand what that means? A child raised in a faithful home is already one of our greatest threats.

Your Countermeasure: Disrupt Covenantal Generational Faith

You must sever the chain, Grelmoth. Here is how:

1. Turn Fathers into Passive Cowards

The father is the first battleground. If he takes his role seriously, he will teach, lead, and disciple his household. This cannot be allowed. Whisper to him that religion is his wife’s concern. Convince him that providing money is enough. If he must bring his children to church, ensure he never leads them in worship at home. Keep him distracted, indifferent, or absent.

2. Convince Mothers to Prioritize Comfort Over Conviction

If we cannot neutralize the father, we must weaken the mother. Convince her that her primary duty is to ensure her children’s happiness, not their holiness. Make her fear that discipline is too harsh, that boundaries are unloving, that the world is not so bad after all. Most importantly, fill her heart with anxiety—let her think she is failing so that she ceases to fight.

3. Steal the Children’s Hearts Early

Ah, the children! They are far easier to mold than their parents. Make sure they love the world before they ever hear the Enemy’s name. Use their schools, their entertainment, their peers—surround them with lies before they are old enough to discern truth.

If their parents insist on teaching them at home, tempt them with isolation or pride. Let them become so focused on keeping their children “set apart” that they forget to equip them for war. Or, better yet, let them raise their children in a sterile religious environment—one that preaches rules but never grace, so that when they grow older, they will rebel with a vengeance.

4. Redefine the Meaning of Family Itself

This is where our greatest success has already been achieved. No longer does the human race understand what a family is. They believe two men can create a household. They believe children can be raised without fathers, that marriage is optional, that life itself is disposable. The result? A world where children are born into chaos, and chaos is our ally.

Your Urgent Orders

If you allow the chain to remain unbroken, Grelmoth, you will have failed me. Every father who leads his home in prayer, every mother who disciples her children, every generation that passes down the faith is a strike against our kingdom.

Your task is to distract, discourage, and divide. If you succeed, the next generation will belong to us.

Yours in the Shadows, Malphas, Tempter-General of the Western Front
